Hello family and friends!
This week has been a roller coaster! We began the week with going out with a bunch of sisters to downtown omaha! It is exciting being back in the city again. :)
We started praying at the beginning of the week to be able to set someone for baptism.
Do you remember Heather Carstens? She is a less active in our ward and we had started meeting with her. We took her family to the mormon trail center the week before and had a wonderful experience. We had invited Roger, her husband to take the lessons. He was pretty hesitant. Well, we went tuesday night for our lesson with a member from our ward and GUESS WHAT!? Heather and her entire family were sitting around ready for the first lesson! WHHAAAA!!?? Can you say miracle? We started teaching the Restoration and the spirit was so strong. Roger never grew up in any church and didn't know how to pray. We were able to teach him how to pray. :) Soo...near the end of the lesson, I have a thought about baptism and BAM! Sister Nelson begins...."Roger, as you come to know these things are true...will you follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized by someone holding the priesthood authority from God?" and Roger said YES! I am SO grateful for the spirit. What a blessing!
The ward is amazing. We are seeing miracles everyday! We have limited miles which has forced us to walk and utilize the members. This has been a blessing because we have been able to develop friendships with members and hopefully gain some of their trust. We have been praying a lot!
We were out with a ward missionary yesterday, Sister Staley. She is my favorite! No joke. At the end of the day as we were driving home talking to sister Staley, we realized that it is so true...when members and missionaries work together the work happens! Miracles happen! This is Heavenly Fathers will. He is still a God of miracles! We need that faith and trust in what our prophet has said.
Sister Nelson is so great! We are growing a lot together. My goal this week is patience. haha! Heavenly Father has been letting my see a lot of my weaknesses. I am grateful though, because i want to become more like my Savior.
I was reading about Anson Call the other night. Someone gave me his conversion story. It is amazing and has made me soo grateful to be a Call!
The best part is....He became very close with joseph Smith after his conversion to the gospel. Right before Joseph left for Carthage jail, he told Anson..."Be faithful and true, and you shall have your reward. Farewell." This has become my thing lately! Be faithful and true! I am grateful for my ancestors. I know I am blessed because Anson was faithful and true. We are apart of his reward!
I love you all dearly! I know this gospel is the only way to lasting happiness. Jesus Christ is our Savior and this is His work! Be faithful and true and we will have our reward!
With all my love,
Sister Call
