I am so sorry we have lost track of the Weeks!!!!
I am now a grandma (is that a good enough excuse?!!)
Here's Week 51:
Grateful (4/14/14) (Way COOL Date!! :)
I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ!
I am grateful for my amazing companion Sister Dumont!
I am grateful for hard things.
This week has been one of the hardest weeks of my mission so far, for that...I am so grateful!
We
did exchanges with some sisters on Tuesday and then had interviews with
President Weston on Wed. Interviews are my favorite. I get so nervous,
but when I walk into that room...I immediately feel the love president
weston has for me and the love my Savior has for me. I asked him a
question about some sisters and as I was talking to him about the
situation I stopped and realized that the spirit had just told me what
to do. The spirit is amazing. I laughed and looked at President. He
smiled and said that is what you need to do. I am so grateful for
answers to prayers. I asked President, How do I give my heart and my
mind? He told me that we are commanded to give everything. This is true.
It is when we give everything that we find joy.
We had our big leadership training this weekend. This is my
favorite meeting! President Weston gave an incredible training on
enduring to the end. Perfect timing! Sister Dumont always says, "Its not
enduring to the end, its enjoying to the end." I remember something my
dad told me before I left, he told me to never just endure but to enjoy
every moment. So far, there have been times that I have just endured,
but this morning I read a talk by President Monson and he said that the
Lord has commanded us to endure cheerfully! I know my Savior did not die
for me to live my life enduring trials and not enjoying myself, He died
for me so that I could enjoy every moment and progress to have eternal
joy! How I love Jesus Christ and the atonement!
Lizz and Nery are no longer being taught, but that is ok. They will be baptized sometime...right now is just not their time.
Karen is doing well! We have a lesson with her tomorrow! :) We are excited.
The sisters are all doing so well. We are focusing on all of them
having someone set for baptism. This will happen according to all of our
faith and obedience! President has stressed that we must be positive
and good things will happen. :) Sister Dumont is such a great example of
being positive. She has changed my mission, therefore...she has changed
my life!
I love you all! I hope you know that the first principles and
ordinances of the gospel are the simple truth. I know it! I know the
Book of Mormon is true and that it protects families!
Have an amazing week. Enjoy every moment! It will all be worth it.
Love,
Sister Call
WEEK 52
Because of Him (4/21/14)
Happy Easter Everyone!
My testimony of
Jesus Christ and the Resurrection has been strengthened this week. Can
we have Easter everyday!? I think so. Everyday we can celebrate and
rejoice that He Lives! Whenever I see a picture of Jesus Christ or
testify of Him, the spirit is always so strong. I know He Lives! I know
He loves you and me. It is all Because of Him.
This last week was so good. We traveled out to North Platte to do
exchanges with a couple of sisters. It was so good. I have learned so
much from all the sisters.
We had Zone Training and sister
Dumont and I gave a training on positivity! President Weston is really
focusing on all of the companionship having someone set for baptism. In
order for this to happen, we need to be positive! :) As I was thinking
about what to share, I thought of...Peter Pan! :) I love the scene when
Peter and the Children are in the room and about to fly for their first
time. Peter says, "Now...just think lovely thoughts!" The children all
start chanting things that make them happy..."Pirates! Mermaids! CANDY!"
I thought it was amazing how the children had to have fairy dust
coupled with Lovely thoughts!! :) We all need this! The spirit coupled
with lovely, positive thoughts and then...WE WILL FLY! :) Of course
during the training I had to act out the whole scene! Phew! How
exciting. I am so grateful for a companion who is reminding me to always
think positive, so that I can always be grateful.
I got sick this last weekend. I wont go into too much detail,
just know that we were talking to this old gentleman outside and I knew
that I wasn't going to make it...so I rudely ended the conversation and
ran to a light post and relieved myself behind it.
(Sorry for the TMI, too much information!!!! :) My poor companion.
She jokes that she almost ran away from me....Joke? :) Anyway, doing
much better now!
We are still seeing so many miracles everyday. I love this
work! I know the gospel is true. I love being a missionary. Have an
amazing week!
Love you all!
Love,
Sister Call
