Another fun week!
We
went on exchanges again this week. Ah! What a blessing. You truly do
see miracles on exchanges. Sister Whipple and I were together in a small
town named Glenwood. We had been focusing on finding new investigators
for their area. We had one more potential that we wanted to try . We
walked up to this mans home, knocked on the door. We introduced
ourselves and realized that the person that had lived there had moved.
We talked to the man a little bit and told him our purpose. We asked if
he would want to hear more...he immediately said, "Sure! my wife and I
used to go to church and we are having a baby in a couple weeks. We will
definitely want to hear more."
Ha! I don't know if there family will receive the gospel, but it
was such a miracle! Heavenly Father lets us experience miracles as we
are working hard and being exactly obedient.
I have been
thinking a lot about how we can get the members excited about missionary
work. We have been praying and fasting about it and yesterday, I think
we found our answer. We are starting to create Family Mission Plans with
the members. Yesterday we set up our first one with a young family. We
asked them about their experience with missionary work and they told us
that they think being good examples and being friends is what they want
to do. As we continued to teach and discuss how doing missionary work
can bless their family, they began to really think and make comments
about how they need to pray over a list of all the people they know and
that they have faith that they know somebody is ready to hear the gospel
that they know. The spirit can even soften members hearts to missionary
work! I was amazed how the discussion began to how it ended. They are
now determined to start up their own family mission plan and fulfill
their vision of having their friends join the church.
Sister Moore is doing very well. She is pretty strong willed,
sometimes I struggle knowing how I am supposed to train her. Oh dear.
It's all good though. I am growing to love her more everyday. Something
that I have found is we both love to sing, so we sing together. The
hymns always bring the spirit.
I love you all and hope you are doing well in this crazy school
year! Keep up the good work and invite the missionaries over to create a
Family Mission Plan with you all! I love you dearly!
