Lani's Letter June 10 2013 Week 6

Dear Family,
I absolutely LOVED the pictures! You all look so great!! Sarah and Jason are looking super good and so are grandma and grandpa. So much change. Crazy.
So Priscilla- Congrats on graduation! How do you feel my friend? You look great in the pictures. :) ALSO- FANTASTIC job with inviting your friends to your seminary graduation! You are such an example. I wish I would have done that more. Missionary work brings the greatest joy and I hope you experienced that as you brought your friends to the seminary graduation. Congrats again!
Ford- Drivers Ed huh? I am sure you are an fantastic driver already. Just don't be too cautious. Just kidding! Be safe! Or else...
Ruth- You look so beautiful with grandma and grandpa! I am so grateful that you have chosen to make young women's a priority. It is going to help you become the woman Heavenly Father wants you to become. You are awesome!
Everyone else looks great!
So, this week has been eye opening to say the least. Transfers are this Thursday and Sister Jasper and I are trying not to talk about it. We are just continuing to make appointments and do the work.
Here is the surprise....Mark Rossell was baptized on Saturday. I don't want to get into the full story, but as you know, we didn't have a preparation day this week. We had too much going on. We kept feeling that Mark needed more time. So, we went over to his home Monday night and talked to him. He was ok with waiting and being fully prepared. Unfortunately, his wife was not ok. The next morning, everything blew up in our face. We went over to their home Tuesday night to talk...the bishops wife came with us. It was a scary. To make the long story short, I needed to be humbled. Heavenly Father has His plan and nothing is about us. The Lord's will is everything and as long as we follow it, everything will work out in the end. And it did, Mark got to be baptized. His interview went well. I needed to be humbled. I have so much to learn! Ah!
The sad part- I COULDN'T GET MY CAMERA FIXED IN TIME!! I am so sorry. This week has been crazy.
Sister Jasper is doing very well. She is such an example to me of just being myself and really enjoying the mission. The other day we were listening the the Tabernacle choir...she starting singing falsetto, therefore, I joined in with base. We belong in that choir. ;) I love laughing with her when things get awkward, laughing with her when I want to cry and enjoying myself.
The members take such good care of us here. They are always feeding us and letting us come over to teach. I love the Fairview ward!
This morning I was studying while Sister Jasper was calling all the Sister's she is over. She was talking to one of the Sister's about just relaxing, because everyone is stressed with transfers looming around the corner. She started talking about line upon line. I was intrigued and read in 2 Nephi 28:30 and then cross referenced Isaiah 28:10. I needed to hear this because I get discouraged and need to learn that the Lord teaches us line upon line. Here a little, there a little. So I just need to relax, trust in the Lord and realize that our Heavenly Father loves us perfectly and knows us perfectly. He knows where we are at and what we need. Just just need to repent daily, humble ourselves and realize that we are meant to have JOY! Plus! We know the truth! We have the gospel and have the best family on EARTH! I am not bias. Trust me.
Also, we can know our Savior on a very personal level. He knows us and knows exactly how to help us. How is the preach my gospel reading going!? We have committed a less active member to read preach my gospel. I know it will help him because it teaches so simply the gospel truths. I am learning to love it more and more. Well, in the end...I have another week! I can try harder this week and pick myself up and be happy because the gospel is the truth!
I love you all!
Love,
Sister Call
