Dear Family,
I
just love hearing from all of you! It is humbling to realize how much
support and love I have coming from home. It strengthens me and helps me
to move forward.
Where to begin! Something funny or wonderful will happen here
and I will immediately think of telling all of you, but when the times
comes...I forget everything! Typical. :)
I am so glad Priscilla
had a good time at Prom. That is unfortunate that he didn't impress
dad, but let's me honest sisters, dad is not one to won over quickly.
Thank you all for keeping me updated.
Thank you for the shot record. I went into get my one shot and
there was a sister in front of me who hadn't had shots for years. She
was getting 4 shots in each arm!! She was crying and here I was up
next!! Needless to say, I walked up to get my shot with major pit stains
and imaging how she was going to poke me and hit an artery, making me
bleed to death and never get to my MISSION! You know my mind...end of
story....I didn't even feel it. Anti-climatic, I know. :)
I got to sing in the MTC choir as I am sure you saw, thanks to
Uncle Phil. The Sister sitting next to me was not my companion,
Talitha. The sister right in front of me was though. Thanks for asking!
Sister Kent is marvelous. We both have strengths and weaknesses and are
learning from each other.
OH MY
GOODNESS! Yesterday we had in-field orientation and you will never
believe who I saw/ worked with and also what Sister Kent and I did. Here
is the story....At the end of the orientation, a play is put on. A
missionary play just showing what life is like in the field. Well, do
you remember the Hodges from Idaho Falls?? We had the twins over for
dinner after they returned to their missions. Brother Brady Hodges was
in the play! Here is what happened, Sister Kent and I were by ourselves
in the hall studying when he and one of the elders from The DIsctrict!
(famous elder) walked up to us and asked if we wanted to be apart of the
play.....my mouth dropped, hand shot up and said, "I VOLUNTEER!!"
Sister Kent's eyes were the size of golf balls. Brother Hodges looked and
me and asked, "did you just volunteer your companion too?" I looked at
Sister Kent, saw her distress and immediately said, "OF COURSE!" And off
we went! Sister Kent played the Primary President and I played the
Relief Society president. Were were in a ward council and we had to act
over dramatic. Anyway, it was a thrill and something I really needed. I
didn't realize the Lord would answer my prayers by giving me a little
bit of theater!! Such a blessing. The Hodges twins and both married,
work at the MTC and each have two kids. They remember us!
Thank you all for your kind letters and keeping me updated.
Dad-I got your long letter last night. I really appreciated it. Thank
you!
Love,
Sister Call
