Pictures

This is Lizz!! (She came to all of church yesterday!!) This week was her husband, Nerys birthday! We had a surprise birthday party for him. Brother vera went out to "detain" him and took him to the store. This is us waiting outside for Nery's best friend Salvador. Unfortunately, he was an half and hour late (he fell asleep). Haha! This is one of us happy, outside and the other is us showing our real feelings. We were all a little anxious for him to arrive, including brother vera who was akwardly shopping with nery until he got the go to come home! :) It was so much fun and we got a new investigator from it. Nery's mom, she doesn't speak english...but sister vera is translating for us and we just taught her the first lesson the other day! :) Love families!
The vera children, Marcella (oldest in back) Matias(left), Benjamin(Right) and Alexa( front). It was so funny, this is at the party. I said "ok you guys! Look at me! I am taking a picture!" Quickly, they all dropped what they were doing and got into this formation. Haha! I love this family!
Claire. The girl we live with. She is so fun! This is her just about to go to Prom. She has her hair done.

Thanks! Love you all! The work is moving forward!

Week 48

Hi friends and family!
This week has been amazing. Lizz and Nery are set for baptism April 12th! A FAMILY!! :) I am beyond excited. They have a picture of Christ and the Omaha temple hanging up in their house now. :) The temple is the goal for everyone! We had a great Plan of Salvation lesson with them this last week. Lizz said the prayer at the end. The spirit was so present. We are now teaching Nery's mother, Mirium. She doesn't speak english. It was sort of sad, the other day, we had a surprise birthday party for Nery and she was there. I got all excited and started talking to her! I realized quickly that she didn't speak english, so I decided to test of what little spanish I know on her. My mistake. I tried to tell her that my parents speak spanish, but instead I asked her about hers...she apparently responded with, "they are dead." but I didn't catch that...so I just smiled and said "thats great!" I looked over at sis dumont and she was desperately trying not to laugh. Later, she told me what had happened. My bad :) We are all still friends :)

Two sets of the sisters we are over are having a baptism this weekend! This rarely happens it seems. :) It is because we are all really trying to rely on our Savior, be exactly obedient and have more faith!! Faith is so real and Heavenly Father works according to our faith.
This morning I was studying in Alma 32: 34. It talks about how if we are not constantly increasing our faith, our faith will become dormant. Dormant faith is not what we want. Every day we should be striving to increase the faith that we already have!

This is the Lord's work! :)
I love you all and hope you have an incredible week!

Week 47

Happy St. Patricks Day!
This week has been wonderful. Lizz came to church yesterday! Please pray for her and Nery. THey are a young couple that we have been teaching. They are going to be baptized at the end of march hopefully. Can you say Family!?? we are praying our guts out. And sacrificing. Its amazing to see how true it is that sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven.
The sisters are all doing pretty well. We had two different exchanges this week. It was a long week, but so worth it.
Something that Sister Dumont and I have been talking about it how if we didn't have weaknesses and challenges, we wouldn't need Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the weaknesses and challenges I have because they help me remember and draw closer to my Savior.
Sorry this is so short this week. But miracles are happening! The work is hastening and this truly is the Lords work.
Have a wonderful week! and know that I am praying for you.
He Lives!! :)
Love,
Sister Call

Week 46

Hello Family!
We had our leadership training this week in Omaha. This picture is with all the Sister Trainer Leaders of the Nebraksa Omaha Mission! Three of them have been my companions, Sister McMaster (near front) Sister Page (back with me) and Sister Dumont (my arm is around). All of these sisters I admire and look up to. I love them!
President Weston gave an incredible training on Bishops. He asked us, Who holds the keys in your ward for missionary work? The Bishop! There is a drastic difference between the wards that have a bishop who has a vision for missionary work and a ward whos bishop doesn't have a vision and doesn't do missionary work. Once the Bishop knows how Heavenly Father wants the work carried out in His area and makes a plan, the work sky rockets!! It is amazing. We were reminded of this and how we must work under the direction of the ward mission leader and the bishop. We are merely tools with a purpose! To preach the Gospel.
I had a thought in church yesterday...a lady was talking about how she can strengthen her testimony and protect her children. We heard a story about a family who was promised that if they did missionary work, their testimonies would grow and their family would be protected from a lot of worldy influence. They did it. They started inviting and building friendship and working closely with the missionaries and the promise was fulfilled. I know this promise does not just apply to this one family. If you want your testimony to grow: do missionary work and share it with people. If you want your children strengthened: do missionary work and invite someone to take the lessons in your home where your children can feel the powerful spirit teaching the gospel brings. I love our prophet! If nothing else, follow the Prophet. He knows the way :)
This week we saw miracles! We started teaching a young couple the lessons. Lizz and Nery! They are incredible. Nery is from Gutemala. :) It is so exciting to see him accept the Book of Mormon and the gospel so easily. It is truly a fulfillment of prophecy before our eyes! Lizz came to church this last Sunday. :) They are both working towards baptism. Their friends are the Vera's! Finding through members is incredible!

I love you all! I know this is the Lords work. I know if we have faith, pray with faith, and act in faith, anything is possible with Heavenly Father. I have seen it this week! I love this work. This is my passion! I know that this brings joy, not just happiness, but JOY! Because it lasts.
Have an incredible week! I am praying for you all!
Love,
Sister Call
