Week 44

SORRY THIS IS SOOO LATE!!!!!!!!!! Anywho. Here you go!

Hello family!
Transfers were this week. Lots of exciting changes! President has felt that missionaries need to stay in an area for 8 months and with an companion for 4. It is inspired. The members usually really like it. :)
I am now with Sister Dumont from Riverton Utah. :) She is incredible. I have only had incredible companions. Hopefully that is a good sign? Sister Dumont is the most positive missionary. She loves people to death and has a powerful testimony of the gospel. I have a lot to learn from her.
We are still over 8 sets of sisters. I love the Nebraska Omaha mission. I know there is so much potential here and I know as all of us missionaries rise to a new level of commitment and obedience, miracles will happen.
David is set for baptism! We went to a big family history expo where a member of our ward asked us to man the front desk. We did and david came. He sat down by us and we had a lesson with him and set him for baptism! It was powerful. Strange at times because different members of the ward and stake would come up, introduce themselves, bear testimony to him and teach him another lesson then leave. Needless to say, David was a little overwhelmed, BUT he still was excited to set a date. :) It was a testimony to me that the spirit takes care of it. I am not sure if david really heard everything, but I know he felt the spirit and that is why he wants to be baptized.
He is 19 though, so this week we need to give him over to the YSA sisters. It is for the best! Especially since the YSA sisters haven't had a baptism forever. I know they are getting david because they are working hard and being obedient.
I hope you are all reading the Book of Mormon everyday and making good goals. President Weston sent us this quote this morning.
"The tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach." Benjamin Mays.
I am really beginning to understand how essential it is to study the Book of Mormon everyday, personally and as a family. Not only is it a commandment, but it our greatest preparation tool for what is coming! If you are not studying it daily, please start. Do it personally and as a family. I promise, as a representative of Jesus Christ that as you study the Book of Mormon, you will receive answers to your questions, you will be given greater power to make your weaknesses strengths and you will have the spirit more in your life.
I am seeing this more and more everyday, so I know it is true. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know this is the Lords kingdom once again established on the earth.
I love you all dearly and only plead with you to study the Book of Mormon daily because I love you.
Have a great week!
Love,
Sister Call

WEEK 43

 No, letter. :(

Here was our exchange:

How are you!?

Very well! We are on exchanges right now in a little town called Holdredge. Thank you so much for the Valentine package! It made my week!

So how do the exchanges work?  Are both you and Sister Page in Holdredge, all four sisters working the area?

Yes, all four of us are working this area today. But we do it differently depending on the sisters and the area. Sometimes we take one of the sisters into Kearney...it worked out best this way. Do you remember Sarah Smartt? My roommate? She just wrote me and told me that she found out she had a tumor the size of a plum and just had surgery. She is recovering at home in Georgia. It was an incredible email. You remember how much I look up to her and love her? Anyone, she is doing very well from the sounds of it.
(Sarah was a wonderful red-headed roommate of Lani's.  She also served a mission and was Relief Society President in their ward at BYU-I when Lani and her were roommates.)

How are the sisters here in this area.  How are you feeling about exchanges this weeK?

The sisters are as a whole, doing much better. Most of them are not sick and are working hard. This mission needs to rise to a new level of obedience. That is all I want because I know if we are all exactly obedient, "The Lord is bound."

I asked her about Sister Page;

I love sister page. I really needed her.

Ellyn Risueno has been writing me and wants to get a housing contract for the winter semester...I am hesitant. They are cheap apartments and right by the snow building, but I am not sure if I am supposed to room with her or if I am even doing theatre anymore....I have no idea what Heavenly Father wants me to do. I dont want to think about it, but I know I need to make plans so I am ALWAYS busy and keep moving forward.

I know it is difficult to pull yourself out of the mission and think about life after.  :(  My mom signed me up, got my housing and set up my schedule for me after the mission.  If you want me to make those decisions, I will.  You do need to move on, even though I don't think you need to dwell on it that much.  The Lord wants you to use what you have learned in the mission in life.  You need to return to school.
I want to go back this winter. If you would like to help me do that, I would really appreciate it. I have no idea where to start though. Ellyns mom is singing her up for housing...and classes? I have no idea.

You pray about it and decide my major and classes. Ok? ok. haha! Love you!! :)
 RIGHT!!!!

I like Ellyn,  I think she will be a great roommate, especially after this crazy mission experience.

Do you have time for a letter?

Haha! Ok mom. :) I don't....I am really sorry. I just finished writing Sarah Smartt back. I will write next week, a big long one! Transfers are this week. :(

Thank you for being so supportive and bringing me back to reality. I guess the full time mission does end. Scary!

None of my companions so far are planning on going to byui. We are just making plans to visit eachother. :) Thanks for checking though. I agree about Ellyn.
Love you mom~

The apartments she is looking at are the Snowview apartments right by the snow building. Ellyn is thinking about majoring in theatre. Exciting! They are supposedly pretty cheap.

Have a great week! I promise to write next week!
Yesterday, we decided we needed a change. :) Less maintenance now! :)

Love you! (they cut their hair :)

Blessings from Baptism!

We drove out to North Platte on Saturday to see Kirsten get baptized. I love this girl! She is planning on serving a mission. Heavenly Father is so proud of her!!

These are the cammacks. Brother Cammack baptized her and their daughter, Claire cammack is the one that introduced Kirsten to the church and to us!! Member missionary work! :)

Week 42

Hello family and friends!
I hope you all had an incredible week. It is beautiful here in Nebraska! The snow has been falling the past few days, so you know what that means?? Cars are grounded (we cannot drive them). BUT that means miracles! because the members have been driving us around which is fantastic. If the members drive us around we get to talk to them and they come to lessons with us and things just get good. :) That is the Lords way. :)
This week we were in Kearney about 24 hours. Phew! We drove out to North Platte on Tuesday, but our cars were grounded in North Platte, so we stayed a few more days. Sister Page looked at me and said, "I had a prompting to pack some extra clothes." Oops! Good thing she is close to the spirit. :)
It was a miracle though. Heavenly Father wanted us to stay. Since our cars were grounded, we had to get rides from the members. Every single door opened. We had incredible lessons and so much success. After the exchange we got together with the sisters and talked about how Heavenly Father blatantly showed us that this is His work and we must do it His way. We must be working side by side the members.
We drove out to Omaha on Friday to a leadership conference. President Weston gave a training on obedience. He asked, "Do you want to be a powerful missionary?...Then be exactly obedient and I promise you will be." It is so simple. Obedience is the first law of heaven. The Lord is bound when we do what He says. An obedient missionary is a powerful missionary. And this applies to everyone. Before my mission I really didn't think much about obedience...I just thought I needed to obey what my parents said. I was wrong.
Heavenly Father has commanded us to do much more than be obedient to our parents.
The Gospel is the truth! The Book of Mormon has the power to change lives. Obedience and covenant keeping are the key to eternal life.

We only have one progressing investigator named David. He came to a baptism with us on Saturday. He is beginning to read the Book of Mormon and is very open to the spirit, which is key. We are having another lesson with him and his father on Thursday, we are praying that they will be willing to set a date for baptism.
I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Love,

Week 41

Sorry this is late, here is her brief note.
She apologized for not writing a longer note.  She has written us a letter.  I will try to get that on the blog.
Hello Everyone!
This week was a good week. We found a young man named David the other day. We talked to him and invited him to the ysa game night and guess what!? He came! and he had a wonderful time. We went back to talk to him yesterday. We taught him the Restoration and he said we could come back to teach him and his father. We are praying everything works out!
We are planning an MTC nigh with the youth in our ward. They will all arrive at the "mtc" aka church and open their mission calls! After that, they will be trained and then will go to their "country" it will be a members home who served in that country to lived there. We are getting excited for it! We are praying that it will help get the ward more excited about missionary work.
Also, do you remember Kirsten? She is getting baptized on Saturday in North Platte! We are so proud of her. She is doing great!
We have been really busy with the Sisters this week. It makes me so happy to see them have success and see miracles because of their obedience. It also makes me so sad when they are struggling. Satan is real and wants us all to be miserable like himself.
Sister Page is doing very well. It is so funny, we are a lot alike :) I am learning so much from this sister.
Thank you for your examples to me. I hope you all know that I know Jesus Christ lives.
I love you all and hope you have a great week!
With all my love,

Sister Call
